CJCP Journal
Editorial policies
Journal pilot: submissions are closed. Faculty approval is pending for participation, editorial policies and publication permissions. No articles have been published.
Proposed editorial process
Submission → initial checks → reviewer assignment → review → revision → faculty decision → copyediting and proofs → publication.
The planned default is two independent reviews before a faculty decision. An assigned faculty editor can record a justified exception. Authors cannot review or make editorial decisions on their own manuscripts. Student editorial assistants support assigned tasks; faculty oversee decisions.
Publication controls
The system requires faculty approval of the exact publication version and proof files. Changes invalidate that approval. The owner then explicitly publishes the approved work. These controls do not mean any manuscript has already completed peer review.
Policies awaiting faculty adoption
- Review: the review rubric, deadlines, anonymity procedures and appeals.
- Copyright and permissions: author consent, reuse permissions and the final publication license.
- AI use: author disclosure requirements, permitted assistance and provider eligibility. Manuscript AI processing remains disabled.
- Corrections and retractions: how concerns will be assessed, recorded and communicated.
- Participation and privacy: eligibility, consent, retention and public author attribution.
